The Book:

I’m writing a book exploring the relationship between religious purity culture and kink/BDSM, and the role of kink in healing or recovery from purity culture). Kink has been a major part of many purity culture survivors’ journeys, and my book will explore the experiences of purity culture survivors, their relationships with kink, and the ways kink has provided healing or recovery from the impacts of religious purity culture.

The Research:

I am deploying a number of surveys in the coming months, beginning with a short one on background information, and additional surveys that will go into more detail. This survey series aims to ensure my book’s message and content are accurate, honest, and reflect the reality of people who have experienced purity and kink cultures.

All responses will be anonymized and aggregated to detect trends and behavior patterns among people who have had and haven't had purity culture and/or kink experiences. Only the research team will see your responses.

Who am I?

My name is Lacey Bond, a post-purity sex & kink educator and a certified sex, relationship, and intimacy coach. I have lived experience as a purity culture survivor - from being raised in Evangelical Christianity to graduating from Biola University - and I’m dedicated to helping people process and thrive beyond their purity-based experiences.
